Detailed Itinerary for 3 Days Uganda Birding Safari.
Day 1: Pickup in Entebbe, Transfer to Mabamba Swamp and Drive to Lake Mburo NP
On Day 1 of your 3 Days Uganda Birding Safari, you will be picked up by our company representative from your hotel in Entebbe. You will drive to Mabamba Swamp to search for the prehistoric Shoebill stork and other bird species including the Angola Swallow, Swamp Flycatcher, Olive bellied Sunbird, African Fish Eagle and the Knob-billed Duck to mention but a few.
After your birding experience at Mabamba Swamp, you will proceed with your drive to Lake Mburo national park with lunch enroute and bird watching along the way. Upon your arrival in the park, you will check into your lodge and later in the evening head out to the park for another birding experience. Dinner and overnight at Acardia Cottages (Midrange)/ Mpogo Lodge (Budget)
Day 2: Morning Birding and Afternoon Boat Cruise
On Day 2 of your 3 Days Uganda Birding Safari, after having breakfast at your lodge, you will head out to the park for a morning birding session during a game drive in the park. You can look out for bird species like the Bateleur, Rufous-bellied Heron, Grey-crowned crane, Coqui Francolin, Black-bellied Bustard, and Brown-chested lapwing among others. After your birding experience, head back to your lodge for lunch.
After lunch, you will later head out for an afternoon boat cruise in search for the elusive African Finfoot, White winged swamp warbler, Papyrus Gonolek and the White-backed Night Heron among other birds. Return back to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay same as above.
Day 3: Transfer Back to Entebbe and Afternoon Birding at the Botanical Gardens.
This is the last day of your 3 Days Uganda Birding Safari. After having breakfast at your lodge, you will reconnect with your guide and drive back to Entebbe.
You will have lunch enroute and a stopover at the Equator monuments in Kayabwe. In the afternoon, you will drive to Botanical Gardens in Entebbe where you will search for the Bathawk, Golden-backed weaver, African grey parrot and the Orange Weaver among other bird species. You will be dropped off at a hotel of your choice of at Entebbe International Airport. End of Tour.
