Detailed Itinerary for 11 Days Uganda Ngamba Chimps, Jinja and Bwindi Gorilla Safari.
Day 1: Arrival at Entebbe
Depending on your time of arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you will find our company representative waiting for you upon your arrival at Entebbe. After your briefing, you will be driven to your hotel where you will spend the rest of your evening at leisure. If you have more time to explore, you can have a brief tour of Entebbe city where you can visit the zoo and some beaches within the area. Dinner and overnight stay at your hotel.
Day 2: Visit Ngamba Island for Half Day Chimpanzee tour and transfer to Kampala City.
Have breakfast in the morning at your hotel and then checkout. Meet up with your and drive to the docking point near Entebbe zoo where you will board a speedboat to Ngamba Island. You will be spending half a day with the chimpanzees at Ngamba Chimp Sanctuary, feeding the chimps and watching them play and groom each other. Have lunch and then take a boat ride back to the docking area where you will find your driver guide waiting for you.
Later drive to Kampala city and check into your hotel. If you wish to explore the city and its nightlife, you can inform your driver guide in advance.
Dinner and overnight stay at your hotel.
Day 3: Kampala City Tour
Have breakfast at your hotel in the morning. You will set off at 8:30 am for a tour of Kampala city where you will visit places like the Kabaka’s Palace, Kasubi Tombs, Uganda Museum, Namugongo Martyrs Shrine, Craft Village, Acacia Shopping Mall, Garden City and Kingdom Kampala Mall. You will have lunch at a restaurant in town as advised by your driver guide.
Dinner and overnight stay at your hotel.
Day 4: Transfer to Jinja- Stopover in Mabira for Zip lining and Visit Griffin Falls
Have breakfast in the morning and meet up with your driver guide. You will embark on a 2-3-hour drive to Jinja with a stopover at Griffin Falls in Mabira where you will do zip lining and also embark on a 30min-1-hour hike to visit the Griffin Falls. Have lunch in between your activities and later continue with your journey to Jinja where you will arrive later in the evening in time to check-in and have dinner and overnight stay at your hotel.
Day 5-6: Explore Jinja City (Whitewater rafting, Sunset Boat Cruise and Bungee Jumping)
Have breakfast in the morning and meet up with your driver guide. Driver to Nile River Explorers’ briefing point where you will be briefed on your day’s activities. You will enjoy the following activities during your stay here; Grade 3 Whitewater rafting, sunset Nile boat cruise and Bungee Jumping.
Dinner and overnight stay at your selected hotel.
Day 7: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
After breakfast, you will check out of the hotel and start the journey to Bwindi impenetrable national park with en-route lunch on the way. Upon arrival you will check into the lodge for an evening relaxation, dinner and overnight stay at your lodge.
Day 8: Gorilla Trekking and Optional Batwa Cultural Tour
Early in the morning after breakfast and a briefing from the UWA officials, set off for the gorilla tracking. This is a once lifetime experience and unforgettable adventure. The ranger guides will lead you into the thick forest and start your search for the endangered Mountain Gorillas. You will move up and down the rugged terrain until you finally meet these harmonious creatures that will entertain you with performances for about 1 hour.
The activity can take 2 -7 hours since the gorillas move up and down. This is an awesome and exciting moment. En-route, there are other types of the primates such as monkeys, birds, and more. After your gorilla trekking experience, you can do an optional cultural tour to the neighboring Batwa communities that live near the national park.
Return for an evening relaxation, dinner and overnight stay as above.
Day 9: Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi- Boat Cruise
After having your breakfast, check out of your lodge and embark on a 1-2 hours’ drive to Lake Bunyonyi; arriving in time to have lunch at your lodge. Later in the afternoon, you will head out for a boat ride on the lake where you will get an opportunity to see the famous ‘punishment Island’ as well as do bird watching around the lake area.
Later return back to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 10: Free Day
Today is your free day so once you are done with having breakfast at your lodge, you will spend the rest of your day at leisure. You can opt to do other optional activities like quad biking, cycling, or cultural tours.
Later have dinner and overnight stay at your lodge.
Day 11: Departure
Wake up at leisure and have your breakfast. Depending on your flight departure time schedule, you will inform your driver guide on when to drop you off at Entebbe International Airport for your onward flight back home.
