Hiking the Virunga Mountains

During canopy walk, tourists will have exceptional views of the park where you will get the chance to see a number of primate species like the chimpanzees, different monkey species like red tailed monkeys, black and white colobus monkeys swinging in the tree branches.
Chimpanzee trekking
Chimpanzee trekking is another adventure activity that can be carried out in Rwanda in Nyungwe National Park. Nyungwe national park is one of the best destination where primate safaris in Rwanda. The park is a home to over 1000 chimpanzees making it the perfect place to visit when you are interested in chimpanzee trekking. There are two habituated chimpanzee troops that can be trekked and the first troop is located in Cyamudongo forest and the other in the Nyungwe forest. The activity begins early morning where you will head into the forest s for your tracking activity to be carried out.
As you make your way to the chimpanzees, you will hear loud hoots and this will be an indicator that you are close to the primate species as you get to a troop, you will spend as much time as allocated on your activity. With the encounters with the chimpanzees, you will observe their behavior in the wild from their feeding patterns, their playtime, sleeping time among other interesting features.
Tracking the big five animals
While in Rwanda, you can participate in the adventure activity of tracking the big five animals in Akagera National Park, a park where you will have the most amazing adventure while on your Rwanda tour. Akagera National Park is home to all the five namely the lion, elephant, Rhinos, buffalos and the leopards that can be seen during the different game drives in Akagera National Park.
During the morning game drives, you get the chance to see a number of early risers but the some of the big five animals that can be seen during the morning game drives include; the elephants and the buffalos that are seen near the shores of lake Ihema and the elephants and rhinos can be seen grazing in the plains and quenching thirst from the lake. In the evening or nocturnal game drives, you will have the chance to see the carnivores like the leopards and lions while they hunt for their prey which is usually the Uganda kobs, impalas, topis among other herbivores within the park.
Cultural encounters
