This 9 Days Tanzania Wildebeest Migration Safari and Zanzibar allows you to witness the world’s most spectacular phenomenon, which is the Wildebeest migration that takes place annually in Tanzania and Kenya. This time around, you will get to witness the wildebeest migration from Tanzania before finally heading to Zanzibar where you will get to relax on the white sandy beaches. The perfect months to view the migration is December-January in Ngorongoro Conservation Area, and June-August in Serengeti National Park. However, the migration can be witnessed throughout the year.

Detailed Itinerary for 9 Days Tanzania Wildebeest Migration Safari and Zanzibar
Day 1: Pickup from Moshi and Materuni Waterfalls Hike
You will start your safari with pick up at the airport. You will transfer to your hotel for check in. Depending on your time of arrival, you will engage in a Materuni waterfalls hike for a chance to see the beautiful waterfalls as well as views of the Kilimanjaro Mountain, punctuated with a lunch stop. Later proceed to your hotel for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 2: Drive to Serengeti National Park- Game Drive
After breakfast, your guide will drive you to Serengeti national park. You will have lunch in the national park and later you will engage in an afternoon game drive around Serengeti national park.
You will search for different wildlife species during your game drive such as the big 5 and many others during your safari.
During your afternoon game drive in Serengeti national park, you will look out for a variety of wildlife and bird species such as elephants, giraffes, wildebeests, antelopes, zebras, rhinos, buffalos, hippos, cheetahs, elands, waterbucks, kudus, lions, leopards, impalas, gazelles among others. You will have dinner and overnight stay.
Day 3&4: Full Day Northern Serengeti Game Drive
After an early breakfast, you will enjoy full days to explore the Serengeti National Park on a game drive. After checking out of your camp in central Serengeti, enjoy game viewing in the central area famous for the big cats and high animal densities. Drive towards the northern Serengeti while looking for wildlife such as giraffes, wildebeests, zebras, gazelles, lions, leopards, elands, wildebeest, zebras, hippos, cheetahs, among others. Chance to witness the Mara River crossing!
You can also enjoy your lunch in the wilderness and later engage in another game drive while searching for wildlife like elephants, lions, leopards, rhinos, buffaloes among others. Your guide will take you back to the lodge later. Dinner and night at the lodge.
Day 5: Transfer to Ngorongoro, Crater Rim Walk
You will have breakfast before leaving Serengeti national park and driving to your next wildlife viewing destination which is the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. With your packed lunch drive to Ngorongoro Conservation Area where you will enjoy a guided crater rim walk Enjoy a game drive in the conservation area as you drive to your lodge for check in and an overnight stay.
Day 6: Ngorongoro Crater Drive, Drive to Arusha, Flight to Zanzibar
After breakfast, with your packed lunch head out for full day game drive in the crater. You will descend 600 meters into the crater which is home to numerous wildlife species like the big 5 which includes lions, leopards, buffalos, rhinos and elephants. Other wildlife species in Ngorongoro include hyenas, wildebeests, antelopes, cheetahs, antelopes, zebras, hippos, waterbucks, warthogs among others.
There are also different bird species which can be spotted around Ngorongoro crater like ostriches as well as flamingos common along the shores of Lake Magadi. After your game drive around the Ngorongoro crater, proceed to transfer to Arusha enjoying lunch en-route.
Arrive in time for your flight to Zanzibar. Upon arrival in Zanzibar, you shall be transferred to your resort. Check in and relax as you wait for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 7: City tour, visit Prison island and spice tour
You will have breakfast at your hotel and after this you will start your day’s activities including a city tour around Zanzibar island.
You will also take a private boat from Stone town to Changuu island or Prison island where you will enjoy seeing the Giant tortoises and during your tour of the island you will also enjoy snorkeling. You will take a boat back from Changuu island back to Stone town. On this day you will also engage in a spice tour as you explore the plantations where you will see different exotic spices and also get to know the uses of the spices like cloves, cinnamon, nutmeg among others. After the spice tour, you will return to your hotel for dinner and to spend the night as above.
Day 8: Day at leisure
Today, get to relax at the resort. Meals and an overnight stay as above.
Day 9: Departure
You will have breakfast at your hotel as you prepare for your transfer to the airport which will bring your Zanzibar holiday to an end.
