Detailed Itinerary for 14 Days Best of Tanzania Wildlife Safari
Day 1: Arrival
Your guide will pick you up from the airport upon your arrival. He will welcome you to Tanzania, and have a short briefing about the safari. You shall proceed to drive to your hotel, check in relax as you wait for dinner and an overnight stay. Depending on your time of arrival, you shall enjoy a cultural experience in Arusha.
Day 2: Kilimanjaro Day visit
After breakfast at the hotel, you shall head out for a day visit on the Kilimanjaro area and embarking on one of the amazing activities, a Materuni Waterfalls visit, all the while enjoying amazing views of the Kilimanjaro mountain. Return to the lodge later for dinner and an overnight stay as above.
Day 3: Drive to Tarangire national park, Game Drive
After having breakfast at your hotel in Arusha, you will be driven to Tarangire National Park, which is also found in the northern part of Tanzania. Tarangire National Park is known for having large herds of elephants as well as ancient baobab trees.
You will have lunch and engage in an afternoon game drive around Tarangire National Park. During your game drive in the national park, you will search for wildlife species such as gazelles, impalas, zebras, waterbucks among others as well as the various bird species, which this national park is known for. You will enjoy watching the sunset in the wilderness of the national park and your guide will drive you to your lodge for dinner and overnight at the lodge.
Day 4: Full Day in Tarangire National Park
After your breakfast at the lodge, you shall enjoy a full day in Tarangire National Park. Look out for various wildlife in the park, including giraffes, zebras, large herds of elephants, among so much more. Enjoy your lunch box over a picnic, and another game drive as you leave the park. Dinner and overnight stay at the lodge as above.
Day 5: Drive to Serengeti National Park – evening game drive
After breakfast at your lodge, your guide will drive you to Serengeti National Park, which is also located in the northern part of Tanzania. You will enjoy searching wildlife species such as the big 5 (elephants, lions, leopards, rhinos, buffalos) during your safari in the national park. Dinner and overnight stay at the lodge.
Day 6: Full day game drive in Central Serengeti
Arise full energized from the comfort of your bed as early as possible, have your breakfast and pack your lunch box. Meet your driver for a full day in the wilderness of Serengeti national park, where you will start your adventure with an early game drive to catch up with the wildlife that is always active thus arising early enable you to have a glance at these mammals as they rush back to their hideouts. During your game drive in the Serengeti plains, you will see a variety of wildlife species like lions, leopards, cheetahs, hyenas, Zebras, Impala, African wild dogs, Serval cats, elephants and many other species.
You will also drive around the kopjes like the Simba kopjes during your game drive in Serengeti National Park and you will enjoy seeing lions as they watch their prey in the savannah plains from the top of the rocks. After the game drive, dinner and overnight at lodge as above.
Day 7: Transfer to Northern Serengeti
You will have an early breakfast at your lodge, transfer to Northern Serengeti with en-route game drive. Connect to your booked lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 8: Full day game drive in Northern Serengeti
Have early breakfast, get parked lunch and go for a full day game experience of the Wildebeest migration. Wait up for the crossing. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight at lodge above
Day 9: Transfer to Ngorongoro, Maasai Bomas visit
After breakfast at the lodge, you shall leave Serengeti National Park via the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Enjoy yet another game drive as you leave the Serengeti Plains especially in the Seronera area. Enjoy your lunch en-route, and arrive at the lodge late in the afternoon in Ngorongoro where you shall enjoy a Maasai Bomas visit for an opportunity to learn about the way of life of the local Maasai tribe living within the conservancy with the wild game. Proceed to check in at the lodge, relax as you wait for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 10: Ngorongoro Crater Drive
Breakfast will be served at your lodge as you prepare for your transfer to Ngorongoro conservation area where you will descend into the crater and you will visit Lake Magadi which is found in the center of the crater. You will engage in a game drive and also search for various wildlife species such as elephants, rhinos, buffalos, lions, leopards, cheetahs, wildebeests, zebras as well as flamingos along the shores of Lake Magadi. Return to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 11: Lake Manyara National Park Game Drive, Walking Safari
After having breakfast at your lodge, your guide will drive you to Lake Manyara national park which is home to the tree climbing lions and also elephants and other wildlife species.
You will engage in a game drive and explore Lake Manyara national park, and enjoy seeing the diverse scenery of the national park. You will also look out for different wildlife species around the national park such as antelopes, gazelles, buffalos, leopards, waterbucks, monkeys, baboons among others as well as different bird species.
After your game drive, enjoy lunch, and later on get to embark on one of the most amazing activities, a guided walking safari. A walking safari in Lake Manyara brings you up-close with nature and wild life including zebras, antelopes, giraffes, among so many others. The walking safari is guided by park officials who are conversant with the park. Return to the lodge thereafter, relax as you wait for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 12: Visit Mto wa Mbu – Transfer to Arusha
Today, you shall get to experience the cultural diversity in Mto wa Mbu where you will visit craft shops and also interact with the locals. Thereafter, embark on your drive to Arusha/Serval Wildlife Sanctuary, which is about 2-3 hours’ drive. Upon arrival, check-in at your booked accommodation for dinner and overnight.
Day 13: Day excursion at Serval Wildlife Sanctuary
Enjoy breakfast at the lodge and thereafter proceed to get to visit the Serval Wildlife Sanctuary for a chance to come up-close with the animals as well as feed them! Later proceed to the lodge for check in, relax as you with for dinner and an overnight stay at as above
Day 14: Departure
You will have breakfast at the lodge and check out thereafter. Your guide will drop you off at the airport in time to catch your flight, which will mark the end of your safari.
