Detailed Itinerary for 4 Days Masai Mara and Lake Nakuru Safari
Day 1: Pickup from Nairobi and Transfer to Masai Mara
Your safari will begin with a pick-up in Nairobi on the first day and a welcome to Kenya. As you prepare to drive to Masai Mara National Reserve, you will be briefed briefly. You will make a stop in Narok town to mingle with the Maasai and other residents.
Your guide will take you to the Masai Mara reserve for an evening game drive to spot animals such as elephants, giraffes, antelopes, wildebeests, zebras, lions, leopards, and rhinos. After your wildlife drive, you will be taken to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 2: Full Day Game Drive in Masai Mara
Breakfast will be given at your lodge prior to your morning game watching trip in the Masai Mara National Reserve. After breakfast, visit the reserve to view wildlife, including the big five (lions, leopards, elephants, buffalos, and rhinos) and other species including zebras, wildebeests, waterbucks, antelopes and giraffes among others.
You will have lunch following your morning game drive. In the afternoon, you will go on another game drive to explore a different area of Masai Mara National Reserve while watching the sunset, before returning to your lodge for supper and spending the night.
Day 3: Transfer to Lake Nakuru National Park
After having your breakfast at your accommodation, you will meet up with your driver guide and embark on about a 3½ hours’ drive to Lake Nakuru National Park. It is known all over the globe for its flamingos, is alkaline, and is considered one of the world’s natural wonders. Lake Nakuru is now a rhino sanctuary, with around 40 black and 60 white rhinos, but the flamingos have always been the major draw. At times, there may be about 2 million flamingos in the residence, making a wonderfully gorgeous deep pink ribbon along the lake coast. Arrive in time for lunch, followed by an afternoon game drive in the park in search for any wildlife species that you would love to tick off your list.
Later retire back to your accommodation for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 4: Morning Game Drive and Transfer Back to Nairobi
After having breakfast on this day, you will drive to Lake Nakuru area where you will view a large group of flamingoes and other bird species around the lake area. At times, there may be about 2 million flamingos in the residence, making a wonderfully gorgeous deep pink ribbon along the lake coast. Enjoy a game drive as you exit the park and head back to Nairobi city with a stopover for lunch enroute. Upon your arrival in Kigali, your driver guide will drop you off at a hotel of your choice or Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for your flight back home.
