Detailed Itinerary for 14 Days Kenya and Zanzibar Safari
Day 1: Airport pick up – Hotel
Upon arrival at the Jomo Kenyatta international airport, meet your safari guide who will be briefing you about the safari and transfer to your hotel in Nairobi town. Dinner and overnight stay at your preferred hotel.
Day 2: Nairobi city tour
After breakfast, explore Nairobi city. Visit the Giraffe center, Bomas of Kenya, David Shield rick wildlife trust with en-route lunch at the Carnivore Restaurant. Drive through the main sites in Nairobi city or visit any other site of your interest depending on time before you connect back to your hotel for dinner and overnight stay at hotel as above

Day 3: Transfer to Amboseli national park
After breakfast, embark on your journey to Amboseli national park, which is about 5-6 hours’ drive. Upon arrival, check-in at booked lodge for relaxation, dinner and overnight stay.
Day 4: Full day game drives in Amboseli National Park
After breakfast, explore the park on game viewing drives in the morning and afternoon, scenery viewing, and relaxation. This park offers the opportunity to find predators either hunting or feeding on their prey. You will have your picnic lunch box while on the game drive to connect for an afternoon game drive while observing the hill offering spectacular 360 degrees’ views throughout the park with its arid areas, marshes, and lakes, and on a clear day Mount Kilimanjaro. In the evening, the clouds are usually vividly giving you chances of viewing the snow-capped dome of Mount Kilimanjaro, the highest free-standing mountain in Africa. Day 5: Transfer to Lake Naivasha (6-7 hours’ drive) – Visit Crescent island
After breakfast, transfer to Lake Naivasha via Nairobi city with en-route lunch. Upon arrival in the afternoon, visit Crescent Island Game Sanctuary – a peninsula or island on the eastern side of Lake Naivasha. A short boat trip from the mainland out into Lake Naivasha gives you access to the unique Crescent Island Wildlife Sanctuary, which hosts giraffes, waterbucks, elands, wildebeests, zebras, and impalas. It is also a haven for more than 200 species of birds. The lake has a lot of hippos which you can easily spot from the island. Among the resident birds are fish eagles, ospreys, lily-trotters, black crakes, and a variety of herons. Thereafter, connect to your booked lodge for check-in, dinner and overnight stay.
Note: Time for arrival, will depend on the traffic in Nairobi.
Day 6: Full day game drive in Nakuru national park
Wake up early, enjoy breakfast and connect for an early morning game drive to explore more of the park’s beauty on a game drive for animals like the lions, leopards, hyenas and different antelope species. Lake Nakuru is famous for the Black Rhino, White Rhino and the Rothschild Giraffe. Later evening, return to your hotel in Naivasha. Dinner and overnight stay at lodge as above
Day 7: Transfer to Masai Mara national reserve
After breakfast, transfer to Masai Mara Game Reserve the unspoiled Savannah. It’s about 3-4 hours’ drive, Masai Mara is actually the northern portion of the Great Plains ecosystem in neighboring Tanzania bordering Serengeti national park. It is home to the big five games such as the lion, buffalo, rhino, leopard, and elephant as well cheetah, zebra, giraffe, and vast herds of plain antelope and numerous and other wildlife. Upon arrival, connect to your booked lodge for dinner and overnight stay at your lodge.
Day 8: Masai Mara full day game viewing
After breakfast, full day in the park with packed lunch in search of its popular residents, The Masai Mara plains are full of wildebeest during migration season early July to end September, zebra, impala, topi, giraffe, Thomson’s gazelle are regularly seen, leopards, lions, hyenas, cheetah, jackal and bat-eared foxes. Black rhinos are a little shy and hard to spot but are often seen at a distance if you are lucky. Hippos are abundant in the Mara River as are very large Nile crocodiles, which lay in wait for a meal as the wildebeest cross on their annual quest to find new pastures. Day 9: Hot Air balloon safari – Community tour
Wake early and be picked up by the air balloon team for your hot air balloon safari, which starts in the early morning, just in time for sunrise. For about one hour you will be floating peacefully above the ground, with a bird’s eye view of the African bush below. The capacity for this activity is limited making this a very special and exclusive experience. Breakfast will be provided.
Return to the lodge for lunch. Later afternoon, visit the Masai community for a cultural experience. Dinner and overnight stay at lodge as above
Day 10: Transfer back to Nairobi – Fly to Zanzibar (Own booked Flight)
After breakfast, check-out of the lodge and transfer back to Nairobi, which is about 4-5 hours’ drive. Upon arrival, connect to Jomo Kenyatta airport for your onward flight to Zanzibar. This marks the end of your Kenya Safari.
Upon arrival in Zanzibar, meet your driver and connect to your booked hotel for check-in, relaxation, dinner and overnight stay at hotel resort.
Day 11: Prison island and Stone Town Tour – Spice tour
You will also take a private boat from Stone town to Prison Island where you will enjoy seeing the Giant tortoises and during your tour of the island and the history of the site. After about 2-3 hours, return to Stone town, have en-route lunch then connect for a tour in stone town. After lunch, you will also engage in a spice tour as you explore the plantations where you will see different exotic spices and also get to know the uses of the spices like cloves, cinnamon, and nutmeg among others. Later evening return to relax at your booked hotel. Dinner and overnight stay at hotel as above
Day 12: Transfer to Nungwi island – Safari experience
After breakfast, transfer to Nungwi Island. Connect for a seafood safari experience that includes; swimming with the dolphins, snorkeling and sea tortoise with sea food. End your day with a sunset boat at Michamvi. Return to your hotel for relaxation, dinner and overnight stay at your designated hotel resort.
Day 13: Zanzibar beach experience/Relaxation/optional activities of your choice
You will have a day to relax at the white sand beaches of Zanzibar island and enjoy views of the Indian ocean. Optional activities include; horseback riding, sea walking safari among others.
Day 14: Departure
Your breakfast will be served at your hotel in Zanzibar as you prepare for your drive to the airport, which will bring your safari to an end.
