Detailed Itinerary for 8 Days Uganda, Rwanda and Tanzania Safari
Day 1: Pickup from Kigali & Transfer to Bwindi (Approximately 4-5 hours’ drive)
Following your arrival, your guide will be picked you up from the airport or any other agreed place of pick up in Kigali and depending on time, go for a short tour of Kigali city that includes a visit to Kimironko market and the genocide memorial. Have lunch enroute as you transfer to Bwindi impenetrable forest national park crossing into Uganda through Cyanika boarder. Proceed to Bwindi arriving in the evening.
Day 2; Gorilla trek in Bwindi forest Park
Early in the morning after your tasty breakfast, you will meet your driver who will transfer you to the park headquarters for a briefing from the UWA officials about the do’s and don’ts of gorilla trekking. After this, you will set off for the gorilla trek. This is a once life time experience and unforgettable adventure. The ranger guides will lead you into the thick forest and start your search for the endangered Mountain Gorillas. You will move up and down the rugged terrain until you finally meet these harmonious creatures that will entertain you with performances for about1 hour.
The activity can take 2 to 8 hours depending on the movement of the Gorillas. This is an awesome and exciting moment. En-route, there are other types of the primates such as the monkeys, birds and more. After the trek, you will receive your Gorilla trekking certificate and meet up with your driver / guide and return to the lodge where you will spend the evening at leisure.
Day 3; Optional Batwa Community Tour and Transfer to Volcanoes National Park (Approximately 3-4 hours’ drive)
Have breakfast from your lodge in the morning. You will then meet up with your driver guide and head out for an optional community cultural tour to the neighboring Batwa communities. Get an opportunity to learn more about the unique Batwa culture as you interact with the friendly locals and watch dance and singing performances from the local dance troupe. You will then have lunch and then drive to Volcanoes national park in Musanze. Dinner and accommodation at your lodge.
Day 4: Golden Monkeys and Ibyi’wacu Cultural Tours
As early at 6am, you will be expected to be up for breakfast and ready to set off for the trek. Our guide will meet you after having your breakfast and your lunches packed and he will take you to Kinigi Headquarters where you are expected to be given a brief before starting the golden monkey trek. This brief is done at 7 am. You are given guidelines during this brief before you are allowed to start the trek. This golden monkey trek can take to about 2 hours to half a day as it’s unpredictable. When you finally find these primates, you will have to maintain a 6 meters distance and you are allowed one hour to admire and take photos of the golden monkeys.
After the trek, you will have lunch and be taken back to your hotel as the night before to relax and reminisce on the experience. You can ask the guide if you want another activity in the evening at your own cost and he will advise. You will later go for the Ibyi’wacu Cultural Visit. Dinner and overnight will be at the same hotel as the night before.
Day 5: Transfer Back to Kigali and Fly to Arusha. (Approximately 3 hours’ drive) Flight at your own cost
On this day you will have breakfast at your own pace but ensure to check out of the hotel in time. Meet up with your driver guide and drive back to Kigali International Airport in time to check in for your flight to Arusha. Upon your arrival in Arusha, you will meet your driver guide at the airport and drive to your hotel for dinner and overnight stay at hotel in Arusha.

Day 6: Pickup and Transfer to Serengeti National Park (Approximately 7 hours)
Have breakfast from your hotel early in the morning and then meet up with your driver guide. You will drive to Serengeti national park with a stopover for lunch en route to the park and also take pictures of beautiful sceneries along the way. Arrive in the park in the late afternoon, check in at the lodge, and freshen up. Dinner and Overnight stay at lodge/camp.
Day 7: Full-Day Game Drive
Full Day Game Drive. After your early breakfast at the lodge, drive out for a full-day game drive with our lunch boxes along the Seronera area. Enjoy the big game around Seronera River, some of the wildlife
to look out for in this section include the Lions, Thomson gazelles, topi, ostriches, and cheetahs.
After your game drive, you will proceed to the Visitor Centre where we have our lunch break and open our lunch boxes. The Tourist Information Centre offers some interesting wildlife displays as well as a gift
shop selling information leaflets and maps of the area. The shop also has a refreshment area, and we shall have our lunch from here.
In the evening go for a game drive to the Kopjes the weathered granite outcrops, scattered around the plains, most of which are miniature ecosystems, providing shade and drinking water in pools left in the
rock after the rains. The Kopjes are good hunting grounds for lions especially in dry seasons when most wildlife come to have a dip and drink up. Look for other animals which we might have missed during the
morning game drive. Return for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 8: Morning Game Drive and Transfer Back to Arusha
Have breakfast at leisure and then check out of your lodge/camp. You will head out of the park as you enjoy a morning game drive. Look out for any animals that you might not have seen during your past game drives. You will have lunch en route to Arusha with drop off at a hotel of your choice in Arusha or at the airport in case you have an evening flight to board out of Arusha.
