The Silverback Gorilla

The Rhinoceros Beetle
The rhinoceros beetle is an odd-looking insect that can be found all over Rwanda! This insect is able to roll into a ball to protect itself from predators such as birds and small mammals! Rwanda’s Golden Monkey
The Golden Monkey is one of the rarest primate species in the world. It has reddish-brown fur that is nearly black at the tips of its ears, nose, and fingers. The Crested Porcupine
Another unusual creature native to Rwanda is the crested porcupine. This is a type of rodent that is covered in spines and has a crest on its head similar to that of a hedgehog! It is also one of the few animals in the world to have four stomachs – the upper stomach is where it has food that has been partially digested ready to be absorbed again into its bloodstream!

A chimpanzee is a type of ape which is found only in the tropical rain forests of sub-Saharan Africa. They are very intelligent and can be taught to communicate through sign language!
