Nyungwe forest national park is inhabited by over 13 primate species including the Chimpanzees, thus making it Rwanda’s primate tracking destination. Some of the recorded primates in Nyungwe forest include Chimpanzees, Grey-cheeked mangabey, Olive baboon, Red -tailed, monkey, Silver monkey, Ruwenzori colobus, L’Hoest’s monkey, Vervet monkey, Golden monkey, Owl-faced monkey and Den’t mona monkey most of which you will get to see while on your chimp tracking safari. Nyungwe forest also has over 300 bird species which you get to see as you move about the forest.
