Uganda Gorilla Safaris

Gorilla tacking is the biggest tourist activity in Uganda. There are two national parks in Uganda where one can go for gorilla tracking, The Bwindi impenetrable forest national park and the Mgahinga national park. Both of these parks are located in the south-western part of the country close to Rwanda and the DR Congo. There currently about 340 mountain gorillas in Bwindi forest national park. Both Bwindi and Mgahinga have different other primates, birds and wildlife within the parks that are always fascinating to see. Some of the other mammals in Bwindi include the baboons, antelopes, elephants,and over 350 bird specie. Mgahinga on the otherside is also home to the Golden monkeys and is also inhabited by the Batwa people an indegenous tribe of pygmies who survive on hunting and fruit gathering. Bwindi is the most popular gorilla tracking park in Uganda with 12 gorilla families.
